ACA LAYS FOUNDATION OF 91 YARDS CLUB

Assam Cricket Association (ACA) today organized the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Club House of "91 Yards Club", and the inauguration ceremony of "Hungry willowsi (restaurant cum dining facility of ACA) and state cricket Academy's "pay and play scheme,, ofCricket coaching programme. The event was graced by shri Romen Dutta, president, ACA; shri Devajit saikia, secretary, ACA; shri Porikshit Dutta, Vice-president, ACA; Shri Kamakhya Saikia, Joint Secretary, ACA; Shri Tapash Chakraborty, Member, Apex Councir, ACA; Shri Runumi Borkotoky, Member, Apex councir, ACA; shri Ganesh Dutt Chugh, Director, state cricket Academy; Shri Badal Thakur, Formei captain, Assam Ranji Team; former cricketers of the State; members from the media fraternity and a host oi other dignitaries. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Devajit Saikia, Secretary, ACA, gave a detailed account of the various cricket infrastructural development projects undertaken by ACA across Assam. He reiterated the fact that the present Apex council of ACA was deeply committed and determined to take the game of cricket to every nook and corner of the state, thus providing a level playing field to all the budding cricketers and setting the stage for Assam to produce quality cricket players.

Shri Romen Dutta, President, ACA, in his address, highlighted the utmost degree of fairness and objectivity adopted by the current Apex Council of ACA with respect to selection of cricketers in the State. ln a bid to make the Same of cricket more popular among women, and to encourage more and more women of Assam to take up the sport and accordingly leave a mark, he announced free admission for the girls above the age of 10 in State Cricket Academy's'?ay and Play Schemd'of Cricket Coaching Program me
